Feeling good with this feedback from good friend Cugie Loarca.

"Hi Raffy ! hope all is well with the old warrior…

Junie & I had dinner with my sister Cristina Monte last night with her
group of close friends including Lyn Gamboa, Pres. of Negros Museum. Her husband, Col. Danilo "Nil" Gamboa, a retired Marine officer, shared with me an interesting story about Raffy Alunan
who he's admired since an incident many years ago when he was still serving the Phil. Marines as a reserve officer.

This happened, the two of you were in uniform then, when Gen ermilta approached you & commented, "Hey, why are you not yet a general ?" You immediately replied, "Well, he, (pointing to Nil Gamboa) deserves to be a general more than me; he's served here longer than me!"

Wow, that answer really touched Nil G. then, & he was very impressed with your consideration to a fellow military officer & Negrense! Since then, he said, he has admired and values your bond of military friendship & professionalism.

He told me, "Pls tell Raffy that he is all support for your Senate run" & had even asked his wife, Lyn, to call & ask your brother Ed, for posters to put up. Their house in Silay is on the main hi-way, just before Sta Teresita School.

Btw, when we were taking our NROTC in La Salle College in 1968-69, Nil was the naval officer assigned there. He also was president of the Hawaiian Sugar Planters Assoc. at one time. He is a good man, a good friend. Hope you can give him a call.

Keep well there,good friend. have a meaningful reflection on this Holy Week, with a glorious Easter Sunday!

Cugie with Junie here in Bacolod."

Col Nil Gamboa, PMR, was a dedicated officer who carved a name for himself in the Marines. It must have been AFP Reservist Day when we were together with Exec. Sec. Eddie Ermita. He headed the PM Reserves Brigade while I headed the 9th Infantry Division, Ready Reserve of the Philippine Army. Much admired as a leader, officer and marksman.

DEFEND INANG LAYA. PROTECT THE PEOPLE. REDEEM OUR NAME.

Re Laglag-bala: This is what a president should do if his cabinet secretary in charge fails to take charge.

Step 1: relieve the entire chain, starting from the suspect unit and all the way up to the disciplining authority that failed to do its job.

Step 2: replace them with reliable indians and chiefs soonest possible, like within 24-48hrs;

Step 3: throw the book at those relieved after due process, the bigger the book the better;

Step 4: make amends to those who were victimized, apologize to Inang Laya and Juan de la Cruz, in public and before the world;

Step 5: have the syndicate including accessories swallow all the bullets used for the kotong or frame-up operations as penance.

There's no mistaking that this is a syndicated "kotong" operation that's protected by high above. The chain of command is weak at every link. It must be smashed ASAP!
